# Codex

The Codex CLI, IDE extension and desktop app share one setup, so adding Autolane once covers all three.

## Terminal

### Add Autolane

```bash
codex mcp add autolane-courier --url https://mcp.goautolane.com/courier-mcp
```

### Link your phone

Codex opens your browser to the Autolane page. Enter your mobile number and the 6-digit code Autolane texts you. If the browser doesn't open, run:

codex mcp login autolane-courier
```

**On a remote machine over SSH?** Run `codex mcp login autolane-courier --no-browser`, open the link on any device, and link your phone. Your browser then fails to load a `http://127.0.0.1:...` address; paste that whole address into the terminal.

## ChatGPT desktop app

### Open Codex's MCP settings

In the ChatGPT desktop app, open Codex, then its MCP server settings, and add a server.

### Add Autolane

* Name: `autolane-courier`
* URL: `https://mcp.goautolane.com/courier-mcp`

Leave the bearer token and header fields empty, and the connection on **Auto**.

### Link your phone

Select **Authenticate**. On the Autolane page, enter your mobile number and the 6-digit code Autolane texts you.

## Try it

> Order a chicken shawarma plate from a Mediterranean place on Burnet Road for curbside pickup, and have Autolane deliver it to 500 W 2nd St.

## If something goes wrong

* **"Autolane Courier isn't available for this number yet."** Autolane Courier is invite-only for now, and your number isn't on the list yet. [Join the waitlist](https://goautolane.com/autolane-courier).
* **"redirect\_uri is not registered for this client".** Remove the server, add it again, and update Codex.

## Remove it
